Another great musician left us today.

(the link is misleading, Neil is ok)

Total bummer. This was the first I heard of it. One of my favorite moments in the entire Neil canon is when he shouts "Take it Ben!" in the middle of Lookout Joe on Tonight's the Night and Ben proceeds to tear it up on steel. And how's this for f-ed up: right before I came here to check the forums, 6/10/73 RFK Dark Star slid into He's Gone. I crap y'all not...

Very sad news. Saw him with Neil and Pegi not that long ago down in Big Sur. Great musician.

As I mentioned, Magnus (director of library), is good friends with Dan.

I'm headed down in 2 weeks for John Doe.

where the hell have you been man? I was waiting for your scathing response to whoever that was that was trash talking you. If I had known I would have done it myself in your absentia

Are you going to Bern? Just found out he's coming up here again in Dec. and is playing the SMALL coffee house that is maybe 10 minutes away from my house.

I didn't know anyone was trash talking me as I was up in Vancouver, BC (or west Shanghai) all last week. Oh well - to be flamed here doesn't really cause me to lose much sleep. Indeed, if I want to sleep, I can find plenty of second set '77 shows to take me to la la land.

oh man, I want to go there. Have been wanting to for a long time. Go check out the evils of socialism. Apparently it must make people less of an asshole because just about every Canadian I've met was pretty cool. Is it true the food kind of sucks?

Yeah you told some guy who thinks we should all kiss Jerry's ass unobjectively to F off and he shot back. I was waiting for something good but it didn't happen and I lost interest.

The food I had was great - but it was almost all Asian, including Japadog street vendors. Is damn expensive, but I had a lot of my tab picked up as went up for a friend's 50th b-day bash and his dad handled lodging, meals, boating for a whole crew of us.

Yea, had those in Berkeley before.

There is now a place right on the corner near Warfield which is "gourmet" dogs and beer so good place before a show. "Show Dogs".

Sad news for sure. Thanks for all the good music, Ben. I don't know how much of the healing power of Neil can be attributed to Ben, but it's a significant percentage, I'm sure.
